BPC-157 Research Guide: The Stable Gastric Pentadecapeptide

By the APL Research Team · Updated

BPC-157 may be the most-discussed research peptide of the past decade. A 15-amino-acid fragment derived from a protective gastric protein, it earned its place in laboratories through an unusual combination: interesting biology and exceptional stability.

What the models show

The published animal literature associates BPC-157 with angiogenesis modulation, fibroblast migration and nitric-oxide pathway effects across a range of tissue-repair models — tendon, ligament, muscle and gut epithelium studies dominate the citation record.

The stability story

Most peptides are fragile; BPC-157 is famously not. It survives gastric-acid conditions that destroy typical sequences, which is one reason it became such a convenient research tool — less cold-chain anxiety, more experimental flexibility. Standard practice is still -20°C lyophilised and 2-8°C reconstituted.

Study design notes

BPC-157 is frequently run alongside TB-500 because the two act through different mechanisms — signalling versus cytoskeletal machinery. See our BPC-157 + TB-500 combination article, or the pre-mixed blend vial for fixed-ratio work.

Sourcing

We stock BPC-157 in 5mg and 10mg vials, HPLC-verified ≥99%, batch Batch docs on request, express from Australia.
