CJC-1295: DAC vs No DAC Explained
By the APL Research Team · Updated
No peptide name causes more catalogue confusion than CJC-1295. Two distinct molecules share it, and the three letters after the name change the pharmacology completely.
The base molecule
CJC-1295 without DAC — properly Mod GRF 1-29 — is the first 29 amino acids of GHRH with four stabilising substitutions. It resists enzymatic cleavage but still clears relatively quickly, preserving the pulsatile signalling pattern natural GHRH produces in models.
What DAC adds
The Drug Affinity Complex is a maleimidopropionic-acid group that covalently binds serum albumin — parking the peptide on the blood's most abundant protein and stretching half-life from minutes to days. Signalling becomes sustained rather than pulsatile: a genuinely different experimental tool, not a stronger version of the same one.
Choosing for research
Studying pulsatile GHRH-receptor dynamics: No DAC. Modelling sustained receptor exposure or desensitisation: DAC. Combination secretagogue studies typically use No DAC (as in our CJC + Ipamorelin blend) precisely to keep pulse architecture intact.
Sourcing
We stock CJC-1295 No DAC in 5mg and 10mg vials, HPLC-verified ≥99%, batch Batch docs on request.
For laboratories and peptide businesses buying at volume, wholesale trade packs — sourced and tested in Australia — are available through our wholesale and white-label page.
All compounds discussed are for in-vitro laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use.
