Epithalon Research Guide: The Telomerase Tetrapeptide
By the APL Research Team ยท Updated
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a four-amino-acid synthetic analogue of epithalamin, a pineal extract studied for decades by the Russian gerontology school led by Vladimir Khavinson. Its research identity is inseparable from one hypothesis: telomerase modulation.
The telomere connection
Telomeres โ the protective caps on chromosomes โ shorten with each cell division. Published in-vitro work from the Khavinson group reported telomerase activation in human cell cultures exposed to epithalon, a finding that continues to drive replication attempts and mechanistic studies.
Reading the literature critically
Much of the epithalon record comes from a single research lineage, which is exactly why independent replication is an active area. For researchers, that is an opportunity: a well-defined, inexpensive tetrapeptide with unresolved questions is fertile experimental ground.
Handling and sourcing
A short, robust sequence โ standard lyophilised handling applies. We stock 10mg and 50mg vials, HPLC-verified with documentation on request, express from Australia.
Trade note: our wholesale program supplies Australian-sourced peptides to research businesses Australia-wide, with white-label options for those building their own range.
All compounds discussed are for in-vitro laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use.
