Sermorelin Research Guide: The Original GHRH Fragment
By the APL Research Team · Updated
Every engineered analogue needs an unengineered baseline. For GHRH research that baseline is sermorelin: the first 29 amino acids of native GHRH, unmodified — the minimal fully-active fragment.
Why 29 residues
Native GHRH runs 44 amino acids, but structure-activity work established that residues 1-29 carry full receptor activity. Sermorelin is that discovery made into a compound, with pharmacology essentially identical to native hormone — including its rapid DPP-4 degradation.
The comparison anchor
CJC-1295 No DAC is sermorelin's sequence plus four protective substitutions; tesamorelin is the full sequence plus an N-terminal shield. Run sermorelin alongside either and the effect of the engineering itself becomes your measured variable — clean experimental design, which is why the 'obsolete' compound never left catalogues.
Handling
Fragile by design — strict cold chain, fresh solutions, prompt use. 5mg and 10mg vial formats are typical; ours ship HPLC-verified with batch documentation available on request.
Trade note: our wholesale program supplies Australian-sourced peptides to research businesses Australia-wide, with white-label options for those building their own range.
All compounds discussed are for in-vitro laboratory research only and are not for human or veterinary use.
